Drifting across the sea
A small bottle bobs along
Guided only by God's will
and the strange hands of fate.
Sealed and carefully preserved
within its hardened shell
a small scrap of paper is rolled.
On its delicate surface,
and written with care, are these words
"Upon a mountain top far away
I heard a lonely cry,
"Where are you my love?"
the words pulled at my heart
with a strange longing
to hold, protect.. and love.
With the silent cry came a vision
of a beautiful woman
walking slowly along a beach,
It was late evening,
somewhere far away.
Her eyes were looking up
as if seeking answers in the sky.
Within my thoughts i walked beside her
Took her small delicate hand in mine.
And with her, gazed, with wonder, at the stars.
I knew then, just in that instant
it was my soul mate who was out there, waiting.
And I panicked...
I must find her! But how?
The world is so vast.
Fitfully I slept that night.
Then in the early morning hours,
As the sun peaked above the horizon,
a voice spoke to me.
"Place your thoughts within a bottle
And caste them upon the sea."
"But, but, but.. I stammered, unbelieving and bewildered.
"Have faith." the voice spoke once more and was gone.
So, faithfully that morning I did what was asked of me.
And with the firm belief you will find this message,
I await you.
With all my love,
Dennis

Sweeeeeeet! How romantic is this story?
Not everyone finds someone to love and be their best friend, it is a genuine gift. I hope that you find what you are looking for. A wonderful poem.

OHH I like this one, such romantic words that any Gal would love to hear. Very beautifully written and I know from Jan's reaction that she loved it too.
Good luck.

Oh MY goodness. This has given me goosebumps. If I had married a man with the same artistic and creative passion as myself, I would still be married. But I ruined my romantic life by marrying a lying cheating loser. Thank goodness he is long gone and my heart is free. Dennis ...This is awesome.
