There was a young damsel named Mary
With a face that was very hairy
Said she what is so weird
About sporting a beard
It is well known that I'm contrary

    Funny!

Worthy of the HM! The third line is a little awkward. Like cricketjeff suggested, "She said what's so weird About sporting a beard?"

    Nearly very good

But Limericks really need the scanning to be tight, although you can get away with bending the last line

With a face that was so very hairy
    She said what's so weird
    About sporting a beard
It's well known that I'm quite contrary

Would be my attempt, but the joke is good and that really matters in a limerick :-)

This is another goody ... just amend some of the typo's (second line "hairy" and last line "known").  I love limericks!!
