I just don't want to know
If mommy was involved
Daddy is the question solved
Was it someone that wasn't near
Is she safe, our greatest fear
Are you hiding what you know?
Please say it isn't so
The searcher's on the prowl
Sheriff wears a scowl
Is the family on the mend
What message does this send
Maddy is just so sweet
Hope the stories not complete
That God helps us find a way
To get Maddy home today
So join me in this prayer
God bless, all those there
Bring Maddy home today
I know God will find a way
Please don't say it's so
I just don't want to know
If mommy was involved
Daddy is the question solved
Was it someone that wasn't near
Is she safe, our greatest fear
Are you hiding what you know?
Please say it isn't so
Author notes
I hope and pray for Maddys safe return and for all who are involved in both the serch and the reason for it! God bless!

Aw... I really felt sad throughout this one... I really love how you... put emotion into this one... I thought the lines were a little bit too brief and how you could add a bit to this one... But, its overall a good poem... and a great read...

hehe... Thank you for the read, however

This definitely had a Lyrical feel to it. And so much emotion to it. I loved the way it flowed it kept up with the emotion very well.

These stanza's Are my favorite of the whole poem. It fit really well with every thing you spoke of. And the fact that you repeated them did not take away from the poems feel it just added to it. Keep up the great writing.

Nice Job
I like this piece a lot, you did a great job of showing your concern, but making it real at the same time. I like how you made the issue something that was more 'real' for the speaker, as well as the reader. Bravo!
(and sorry about the false start below.

not for me im afraid
repetative nature takes away some of the pain within the question being asked which in my opinion is not answered by the poem. -

Just for your notification some changes were made in ( ). The composure of the poem now is so sentimental, but yet it holds truth behind it. It could be written from the point of view from a little kid watching his/her parents getting divorced. Or it could be written from the point of view that a little kid's mother is off at war fighting. But either way this poem is emotional and it has some personal ties to my life alone, not to mention probably at least a million other people. The way this is written seems to show some personal interest from you as well. I am inspired by your poem.

-
Oh wow. This poem is very dramatic, in a good sort of muse way. The message is very sad but happy for a safe return of this girl. I've heard of her, and I know what happened. A great poem to wish for the best tho.
-
What a beautful and touching write.
You did a great job on this!
I pray this sweet child is not being tortured and abused. I pray that God will send his Angels to surround and protect her from all that is evil and ugly in this world and if he has already taken her home then we can thank God and rejoice because she is now safe and only love can touch her.
Such a awesome poem with such beautiful sentiment.
Thank you for sharing this and reminding us all to keep including her as well as other children who are in abusive situations in our prayers.
Blessings~

-
good job.
-
I have said plenty of prayers for Maddy and I will continue to do so.
Brother this is such a very beautiful prayer,
I am sure God is listening to all our prayers for her safe return.
If I never told you before, I'll tell you now,
" You have such a caring heart ".
I am proud to have you as my Brother.
Loveandblessings2u & yours always

strange that I come to this piece, I had no idea it was about Madelynn McCann, not more than an hour ago, I'd just gotten through telling someone that this dear child has yet to be found. I think I won silver in another contest, hard to remember now, but my write, " A Prayer For Madelynn" is on my page, if you're interested to read. It took me a while to enter, because I didn't want to say the wrong thing, as I felt in my heart then, and still do, that the parents are somehow involved in this childs disappearance.
Great write, and I truly wish
someone would say,
"It Isn't So"
Sincerely,
Sassy

-
you did a great job on this poem and i hope and pray that maddy is ok and safe. keep up the good poems.

-
I do hope that this child is safely returned to where she needs to be and that a hedge of protection is laid over her from all pain and all harm
Love you much, my brother; this is beautifully done -
Thank you Shaker for writing this poem in prayer, it was different and wonderfully written...GETS

-
I find it difficult to accept that people believe that Maddy's mother could have anything to do with her disappearance, I think it is the last resort of the Portugal Police to save face, because they haven't found her, but this is my own oppinion...her parents have been put through enough pain and they can never have their hearts mended until Madeleine is returned to them...
Putting all that aside your poem is for Maddy and you have expressed your concern very well through carefully chosen words and lines, I still hope and pray the she will be found as you do too, so heartfelt said in stanza #5...
Thank you for you very much for your entry

Bring Maddy home...
I pray each day that Maddy will be returned....I can not believe that her parents were involved ...Because I cant..I can not for one second think of any way it would ever be possible for a parent to harm their own child. The reality of it is they do...but in this case I just can not think of this latest news as such..
Peace and love to all that search for Maddy..and to the angels that take the time to care and spread her message of Find me please...
In addition I would like to respond to quantumsurveryor's comment....
If it were your child..or someone you knew personally...would you not want to raise awareness to anyone and every one by what ever means necessary to finding any child?
I think its so very sad that you hold such a view..
Its your right to think and feel as you do..
But its mentalities such as this that keep children from being found!
Many blessings to you and the peace you must feel in knowing where your children are at this very moment!
Till Maddy is found..May the power of poems continue to raise awareness to those of you who never knew..
Peace
~A~

Wonderful write. Deep thought. Greatly written.
-
Perhaps I am just an over-caring old chap but I find this intervention by contest into the McCann affair most distasteful. It is hard enough to cope with the hard news never mind the questioning and supposition. I am just sorry that I picked up on this piece of work and by default, the contest.
-
children are precious and to harm a innocent is a horrible crime.actually i never heard of this case tiill now, but i love the feel of this poem and i hope she turns up ok. very simple and sweetly written.

-
Nicely written. The innocence depicted in this plea for Maddy is very effective.
-
The twist of the story made my eyes wet as well.I just hope it isn't so, and you sure put that well.
First and foremost, I don't wanna believe she is dead, but I hope the parent's were not involved.
The truth always finds its way out.
We love you Maddy!!! -
awww
Awwww. This is so sweet and sad. I love the slight innocence of the piece, and how like Tarja said it is "childish" but in a professional way. Wonderful addition to the site.

-
This was very sweet. You capture the essence of a child with this piece. It has been a long time since I have read anything of yours and this was a great reminder of how wonderful of a poet you are.
