Courtesy of a Gentleman

this pain: courtesy of a gentleman
understand that longing

recorded words ringing in finger tips
sweet text that's scrawled

whispers of wants and needs

those broken cars that wouldn't get us there

damned to love in poorness

conquest of century battles
worthy actions to steal a girl's heart

read, those words alone enough to make one moan

conquer asphalt detours and

traffic light hells to get to me

slay midevil dragon fears

with thoughts of me in your bed

your prize for all your desolate dreams

my knight in shining armor

ranked highly above the rest of your kind

but do i set the steaks to high

wonderful man. tender with openness

in both of us strife beyond our years

together baggage handled with care
for we know how it feels, that hurt from others

and longing, bittersweet

living in this pain that only a gentleman could bring

love the take on the prompt. making chivalry feel forced... which most of the time it is. you dont know how long it took me to figure out that chivalry was the word i was looking for when trying to give you your prompt. lol. but i loved the poem and going with your first instinct proved to be the best thing to do on this =] thanks so much for entering!! and best wishes!!
