Curse of the Babylonians

Plastered to the wall
I cringe when the ritual begins and you pray to this unseen demon
To mold you into an alternative
An image of another but not that of yourself
I plead to all that your body will listen to
Yet there is no response
Esteem haunts you like a buried heart
Beating louder and louder
But still you discount this reality
In order to embrace
Systemic, cultural mortification reside in your thoughts
But I speak with no audible words of admiration
That you hear
Flaunted on billboards, these virtual images of
0
That which starts and reduces value.
Looking towards true value I ask of you
Embrace that which has worth
My love for you and your being
Your compassionate, living being
That props my esteem higher than you can image
0 has no form, no start, and no value
0 contains nothing positive
So this achievement again, has no value

My love, you are beyond prime
You exceed the exponents that stand beside you
You will and never will become an integer to me
You are the complete entity that makes me whole
But if you know not of my love that
See’s the value within you
You will forever seek and follow the trend of self degradation
To live outside of your self
Other than with me

Author notes

The Babylonians had a sophisticated sexagesimal positional numeral system. The lack of a positional value (or zero) was indicated by a space between sexagesimal numerals

The ancient Greeks seemed unsure about the status of zero as a number: they asked themselves "How can nothing be something?", leading to philosophical and, by the Medieval period, religious arguments about the nature and existence of zero and the vacuum.

    Deep

This is a very deep poem, here, I know a few women that wear size zero and I see nothing sexy about them, but to each their own, I know that Babylonians and the Greeks both had some weird beliefs but I thin kI would be down with the Greeks on this one, a full figured woman can have man begging at her feet, if she has the confidence in her additude, who wants a woman that is unsure of herself, afraid of being rejected, men are rejected everyday but does that stop them from asking, no, they move and ask again.Excelletn write my friend, you should have won gold in my opinion, thank you for sharing and keep them coming.
