To Love With Music

I don't talk much of music
or of those I listen to,
but there is one above all other
whos voice brings me to tears.

I would cry each time I heard him,
the richness of his tenor voice
and today I cry again
for the loss of Luciano.

To awaken to the news
that one you love has died
is a very cruel way to start a day
knowing it will carry through
far into the night
as tears flow each time
I hear his voice
or watch the news.

How do I love one
I have never met?
Oh, but you see,
I met him in my heart,
listened with my heart
and held him in my heart.

Each time I listen to him
I will remember the peace he brought
with each note came from
the very depths of his soul.

For me, Luciano Pavarotti
will live forever in my love
for him and his perfect tenor voice.

Please tell me what you think

I think I would have loved him even had I not loved opera. With his funeral today, I have cried many times, and I'm trying to console myself that I have his CDs. It isn't helping somehow. Thank you.

I never loved opera, but I did have the fondest place for Pavarotti, he took my breath away every time I heard words escape his lips, we mourn the loss of such a great man, but we do not wish him in all his pain back to endure anymore.... fabulous tribute

Sadly, I knew the man in name and reputation only as I am not a devotee of opera. He obviously had a voice that placed him at the pinnacle of those in his profession. I'm sure his legacy will live on long after cds go the way of the dinosaurs..lol.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long

Well, thankfully I have been fortunate enough to have loved his music when it was still on vinyl. Those I no longer have, but I do have CDs that should last a very long time.

They held his funeral today, his voice filling the cathedral. Such a beautiful way to say goodbye to him. Thanks, Leo.

It's never again the same when someone you love dies, even if you would never have met him anyway. I'm sorry for your loss as well. Hugs, Patricia

Dear Patricia, there is no comfort for the pain of loss on the day when we learn of it. We are consoled that he left such a rich legacy that we can share with others.

You are correct, Margaret. They are holding his funeral today, and I'm afraid I'm feeling quite a loss. Thank you.

indeed my friend.....those were sad news yesterday morning. But as you say here....we do have his voice in our collections and we are able to pull it out any time we are in the mood.He was one of a kind [a rarity in this day and age of imitation] I guess not many could imitate that with which he was blessed,
    much love

The one thing he did was span across generations. That is what was so intriguing about him, I think, other than that rich, beautiful voice. thank you, Reenie.

Wonderful poem about a very special man. He will always be with us in his music and be sure that he is there now singing with the angels as we know his voice will blend in perfect harmony. He was truly one of my favorites also. Thank you for sending me the link and I will bookmark it to keep.
    Hugs!!!

Thank you, Cayla. I've cried most of the day, but I guess I should remember that his music is still just where he left it--in my heart. Yes, the Angels surely received their own blessing today. Hugs, Patricia

    Sending LOTS of hugs Patti

I wasn't aware that he'd passed away...the musical world is a lesser place without his voice....

Indeed it is, my friend. Not many I knew loved opera as I did, but Luciano Pavarotti was one that even my children would listen to. I'm very sad today.
