Resting Sword, Sword Resting

Farewell Love
Sitting here pondering
Lives of warriors are honored
Reflections lost are windows and dreams
Life is given now you are gone
Dreams for life of love

Freedom takes life
On we carry

Love Farewell
Pondering, here sitting
Honored are warriors of lives
Dreams and windows are lost reflections
Gone are you now, given is life
Love of life for dreams

Life takes freedom
We carry on

Palindrome Poetry
Also Known as Mirrored Poetry

A palindrome, by definition, is a word, phrase, verse, sentence, or even poem that reads the same forward or backward. It stems from the Greek word palindromos: palin, meaning again, and dromos, meaning a running. Combining the two together, the Greek meaning gives us, running back again...

This style of poetry just amazes me. It seems so difficult to pull off and you did it very well. I might try my hand at one of these... but I don't know if I have the ambition.

Not only is this a well shaped and perfectly composed piece, but the deep meaning and content is what grabbed me from the go. The slight shift of meaning adds more, in your mirrored palindrome, rather than taking away from it. Excellent work! (You also know I'm a sucker for sword poetry, shame on you..hehe)

I know how hard these are to do. You have done much better than I could with this particular form. I think it is wonderful that you work with such difficult forms and share the experience with us, your readers. You have very cleverly managed a sublime change in the meaning of the two stanzas as well. Excellent work. I am impressed.

help but ponder the perplexities of composing such a piece as I read it... again, you pulled off something that must have been difficult and did so with flying colors!

Great palindrome write. This is an awesome form. Wonderful flow and also has good imagery in it and it made me think of when people have to deal with the death of a loved one and try to move on with their lives. Good luck in the contest.
