Imagine this
A wonderful world
With everyday life
Love and peace
With war and violence
The world today
summed up in words
No one belongs here
No one knows why
Poetry and reading
Are they truly what we want?
No one cares about poems
No one cares about books
No one has a place to call there own
Are you imagining it?
The world is half and half
Split down the middle
With certain feelings here and there
And everything else away
Should it be a whole community?
The US of A
Should it be a wonderful land
With the wars and everything
Imagine this with everything
Nothing of our own
Everyone evolves
Yet everyone's alone
No husbands and no wives
Live in the society
No artists or writers
Can you imagine that?
The world would be so lonely
Without the love and books
Maybe thats what its going to
Are you imagining?
It will all end the same
No matter what we do
We will all die
And others will take our place
There's no real worries
No real love
No real anything
Is it worth it?
Imagine this
With everything we have
Could you leave it all behind
With nothing to your name?
Imagine this
Poets leaving
Scribbles coming
Imagine that
That's what is said
No complaints here
Scribbles take over
As words disappear
Imagine this world
Without poetry or art
What would be the meaning
What would be the point

this takes on a distinct existentialist view ... a quiet, yet distinct contemplation, however it might be slightly overdone in a sense that it starts to become a ramble ... i enjoyed reading this, because i have similar musings from time to time ... i struggle for awnsers to purpose and reason, and the only way to find the awnsers is to question ...
nice work ... *cheers* -
This is sad! I don't know what I would do without poetry! It's a big part of my life! I love this poem. Like many of your pther poems it's written so very well, and I really enjoyed reading it!
