one learns through example
from someone who loves their job
a teacher can impart knowledge
through the actions they demonstrate
caring, resourceful, patient
opening up the world for their students
giving them hope, motivation
self esteem as they are praised for doing well
treating each child with respect
allowing them to move at their own pace
gently encouraging them to strive for excellence
to be the best they can be, to reach their goals
smiles are their reward, good marks second
graduation makes them proud
of the role they played
in the lives of these near adults
years later when they meet
spouses introduced, children shown
friends they become
sometimes even collegues at school

Kids are not taught respect for their elders at home. Not all kids, but most. Teachers should not have to put up with the rudeness and disrespect some have for them. Good teachers are not there for the pay. Its because they want to help mold kids so they can make something of them selves. With the knowledge a teacher has, they would make a lot more money in the business world. Hats off to them..
Good write...

I was glad to see someone write a piece for teachers. I realize, that in all fields of service, there are those that are less committed as perhaps the could and should be. But like that one true friend or that one true love, that one teacher that truly imparts wisdom and impacts the lives of others... he or she is worth their weight in gold. Thank you for such a wonderful and tribute and for entering my contest. Good luck!
