The Seven Sisters Who Never Went to Heaven

Luxuria could not cloak her red rose attraction,
And Invidia only festered in lack of satisfaction.
Avaritia and Gula bathed in a stagnant pool of lies,
Red-headed Ira had fiery will and blood-thirsty eyes,
While Acedia gave heed to no passion at all,
And Superbia lived in a cage with a mirrored wall.
Lonely were the lives of these seven, poor sisters who never went to Heaven.

Author notes

The number seven has always been my favorite because it is the number of completion. The Book of Revelations in the Bible has always intrigued me because of it's symbolic usage of it.

This was sort of written like a dark nursery rhyme like Ring Around the Rosey.

Seven Deadly sins: Luxuria (lust), Gula (gluttony), Avaritia (greed), Acedia (sloth), Ira (wrath, more commonly known as anger), Invidia (envy), and Superbia (pride).

    Fantastic

I just LOVED this poem, I thought it was very clever and you show good visual images, YOu could probably write a poetry book for young people, I think they would like your style a lot as it sounds a lot like storytelling. A wonderful poem.
