To lose poetry
is to lose air
Choking throwing your hands out
trying to catch
a breath
Tired so tired
slightly scared
to death
Fragments become everything
sadness no solace
no joy
for me
Drying my cheeks
confused
on my shirtsleeve
Without poetry
how can
I breathe?

I totally agree with this piece of poetry as it is how I feel at the moment. After writing for over 10 years I feel that a part of me is slowly dying, leaving me anguished. A wonderful take on the diappearance of ones muse. Well done and many thanks for entering my contest. Good luck.

You did well with the emotions and the desperate atmosphere you built with this piece. It can get to this, writer's block, and it's not pretty to watch or to go through. I loved the very last lines, "without poetry how can I breath?". Those summed the whole idea up very well and left an open ending for anyone to go on feeling as they please.
Good work with this one!

First I would like to thank you for reading and commenting on "I know your name" by me
. Now to this one of yours....it is a truth indeed that some people really do NEED to write their thoughts and emotions and at times it comes out as a great poem, at others it just might relieve their anxiety. This one speaks well of those feelings [the need to write]. May it forever be an outlet for you,
reenie

The feeling of hopeless desperation and fear, were well felt with this piece of poetry. You did capture the feeling very well. I enjoyed reading this, especially the last part:
"Without poetry
how can
I breathe? "
good luck in my contest!!
