Here is my truth which my hurt those who know me well
But you have hurt me and its time for you to listen while I tell
All these years I've been held captive by each and every one of you
Watching every step and choice I made while criticizing what I do
I was who you wanted me to be and whatever made you happy I did
Fear of rejection of being hated for the simplest things even as a kid
Now im grown and still I feel as if im in some prison with no parole
Waiting for my chance to break these chains and for the real me to show
I'm tired of what you may think or what you may say, I want to shine!
So I'm taking back what you've taken away, This life is now mine!!!
To know what it feels like to breathe and not look or hear you talk
If you do not approve then you will watch every free step away I walk
You have loved me for what you have wanted me to be
But at this point I'd rather be hated for what i am and run free
I'll love each of you forever but while you whisper my name
I'll run in the fields of life like a once captive animal for no man to tame

It is better to be hated for what you are, than to be love for what you are not.
I thought this quote could go in many ways and it inspired me the most. Its a very deep quote and a brave statement.

I truly believe that the only real love is one where a person loves you for who you are, they do not try to change you but accept you as you are.

This is amazing and extremely powerful in its message. There is not one word that I cannot relate to in this piece. I would suggest shortening the lines or putting in commas to make it easier to read. In its content this poem is incredible. My only criticsm would be to fix up the punctuation. Be consistent in capitalizing 'I's and using apostrophe's in contractions such as I'm, I've. Sometimes you do and sometimes you don't.
