Ten Thousand Cicadas - silver

Hum, strum of wrung Sages
waiting to molt their childhood play
by your hand, ten thousand cicadas:

you, who reaches for Oracle
on bark of a singing tree
in cloudless consciousness
of this new sky

eyeless eel of an egg, waited for you
to drag mountains, plains and earth
with your pen, to uncover Socratarian
secrets:

touch me with your clean hands,
go ahead, peel long years of labor
from this panting pitch from dark

for I was hypnotized by laughter,
by love, by life

and forgot I meant to write down
these dreams of parchment fine wings
held like a gem in earth
that would have me sing to the world
that we must pen all our passions

you tremble my trees with your soulful song
that quivers leaves and air with frenetic reason
to have Beautiful sung like praises
on unfolded wings…  such passionate pen, my friend
rings with proud riverbed groove gratitude

Author notes

Carol, I just can't say enough how much this beautiful piece and your beautiful heart has touched me.

I will not begin to comment upon all the technical profundity of this maginificent work, but only share my heart in these humble comments.

I honestly never expected such wealth to be lavished upon me by one whose pen I have admired and whose friendship I have only just begun to know. I feel truly blessed.

Each line and stanza sings something beautiful to my ears, but these in particular bring me to utter tears for you have penned my very heart within your own words and observations:

for I was hypnotized by laughter,
    by love, by life

and forgot I meant to write down
these dreams of parchment fine wings
held like a gem in earth
that would have me sing to the world
that we must pen all our passions

I wish I could thank you for your beauty shared, but I am afraid, at least for now, that my words fail, though my heart is full.

Thank you so much for this treasured gift and for the video presentation that accompanied it.

    Your truly humbled friend,

    -ten-

tenthousandcicadas is a favorite of mine and I have never let her know how much I love the sounds of cicadas, nor the symbolisms, nor how much her words often sink right to my bones. ty

Mixes songs of words, phrases and loves millet.
Aromatic Aromas, Undulating Unctions, Savory Pullet.
Whisk, rush, swirling flavors hold heart for a minute.
Damnable, Damnable love piercing poetical bullet.
    Felled, fallen to shewolfnative's credit.

    God Girl

you spill out words as fast as I can take a breath to breathe...as I said before and say again...You awe me with wonderment...and take my breath away...all in a single stroke of your pen... Poetess!
