Music the international language
the tongue of the heart
that speaks to me
though it's worlds apart
from reality and existence
but i'll listen past the silence
cuz the beat of the drums
match the beat of my heart
and the baseline
has walked with me from the start
throwing me into a trance
so i dance this tragic dance
lyrics of heartache and sorrow
some of hope for tommorrow
push me onward
though it might sound upsurd
for this ensemble of musical notes
are my vital signs
cuz when the music is brought to an end
so is my soul
for without the screams from the mic
i'm not whole
and with this bellowing chorus
comes air into my lungs
and with this verse
comes blood into my veins
for the music takes away the pain
