Glass

I stare into a glass of water,
And watch the waves hitting the sides,
Pretending that I am but for a moment a God,
Responsible for all that live in those shores,
I am tempted to rock the glass from side to side,
Thinking of all they who would feel the storm,
A Tsunami killing their world in a second,
And all so I could have a moment of fun.

  • You call mine an excellent observation? yours is truly amazing how you take something like a glass of water that most mortals take for granted and don't even give it a second glance and put your heart and soul into it and turn it into something as great as a thunderous sea controlled by an awesome and all-mighty god. truly that takes talent. brava!!

    Yow!

Now that's a powerful image! I'll try NOT to think about a god playing with a glass as I try to sleep -- LOL. Really a good write!

Interesting write. How we get inspired by the little things, like looking at a glass of water sometimes. This was well written with fantastic imagery. Thanks for sharing this write.

When we stare into water or into fire, we are mesmerized and it is as if we are transported elsewhere - as in this poem. Unique take on the title- glass. Tsunami from a glass of water is quite creative.
