Bounty and Blame (by poetryality & leo2)

Does time wrap itself in moments of speed,
and carry us wayward into destiny?
Or lavish our spirits with all we need,
and play itself out like shaped fantasy?

Do the hands that twist fate, mold and sculpt days
with the richness of Earth and simple things?
Or leave us to bask in selfish displays,
whine, and complain when consequence stings?

Shapeless and formless, this destiny’s lot,
on the road to forever and a day
Or is it that vision I once forgot
past the horizon where fate’s held at bay

Does not the reason for all of these things
shadow the heartache of reality’s ploy?
Or is it the season to take up wings
and fly in the face of old Satan’s joy?

Where fear has no place in this heart of hearts,
and nothing can stop what is set for me.
Whether right or wrong not one can impart,
the splendor of life, that I foresee.

In sickness and health I strive to be best,
glad change will erupt when the time is right.
I'll welcome the stranger as my house-guest,
and share emphatically truth, love, and light.

In the light of your moon I will set sail,
daring the tempest, the future unseen
For what lies behind that black velvet veil
is only a secret to those who don’t dream

With fear a companion, death, an old friend
onward I journey ‘cross deep ocean waves
Willing to pay the full price for my sins
knowing salvation is two arms away

This is a fantastic collab. The depth of the piece is something to be expected from poets like you. I loved the second half of this even more than the first. I felt like I could sing soul into this piece. You guys really know a thing or two about rhythm and rhyme. As always, this was a pleasure to read.

well developed thoughts. conclusions submitted as questions. i like this form of education. the answer lies within the reader and makes each question relevant to all. the ideas expressed through the first stanzas questions brought a great deal of thought to me. forced me to wrestle with all of those really broad issues. my favorite stanza: In the light of your moon I will set sail,
daring the tempest, the future unseen
For what lies behind that black velvet veil
is only a secret to those who don’t dream
    excellent write
