In The Whispers
Words and music by Christian R. McCarthy and Robert L. McCarthy
Intro, fingerpick Verse
Verse 1
C6 C Cmaj7 C
Night, call from distant land
C6 C Cmaj7 C
Speaking words I understand
Asus Am A4 Am
of shining Castles built on sand
Asus Am A4 G/B
of shining coast of a different land
C6 C Cmaj7 C
Willow, stretch out Thy will
C6 C Cmaj7 C
Reaching softly to touch me still
Asus Am A4 Am
in pale moonlight when we met
Asus Am A4 G/B
Placid midnight, dreams we kept
Chorus
Am G/B
In the whispers, a breath
Am B7
In the whispers, a stir
Fmaj7/A G/B Am G/B
In the whispers, the dark brings me back to her
Verse 2
Breeze, course across the fear
These chords only I hear
to breathe with me to sing again
to breathe for me, my farrell friend
Wave, shine Thy guiling dance
Shine on me, I need the chance
through current’s storm of misery
through fleeting form of destiny
Chorus
In the whispers, a breath
In the whispers, a sheen
In the whispers, encircle. That’s all I mean.
Verse 3 (1/2 verse)
Embrace, reach outside Thine own
A face brings us, two as one
and still the fear inside of me
and still be here, guiding me
Solo (1/2 verse)
Chorus
In the whispers, a breath
In the whispers, a sheen
In the whispers, encircle. That’s all I mean.
Ending, fingerpick Verse

Excellent!
I think this song would be beautiful! One day maybe you can play it for us!
Your words are amazing!
My favorite part:
Embrace, reach outside Thine own
A face brings us, two as one
and still the fear inside of me
and still be here, guiding me
Just beautiful thanks for sharing your talent!

Hi Bob,
Yes, I finally got around to reading this!
I love the words, and can't wait to actually hear this. Having the chords up there is both a good and bad thing, IMO. On the one hand it gives anyone reading this the opportunity to actually hear the music. On the other hand...it's a bit distracting while reading the words themselves. I think you've got the right idea having the chords up there, though.
I'm hoping this will spark some inspiration in you to write more. I miss reading your poetry.
Much love,
~J.
