Passions Weather

The distant flicker shuddered the shrubs with damp anticipation,
The air chilled, wicked and driven, alone she would be.
The flashes glowed and danced as the wind consumed her thoughts.
A jolt of guilty fear, passed. “I am alone for none too see”.
With her eyes closed, she listened to the power, rustling the leaves,
The heat touched her fingers and she knew this storm would breathe deep
Warmth came from within, as if a flood from her soul was unleashed,
Her heart raced, echoing in the cavernous thought of wants and needs,
A gust blew strong opening her coat and lifting her brim drumming her face with ticklish strings,
A gasp was all she could manage as she gathered her lapels and squeezed.
Intensity grew as flashes became bolts, bolts lit up her mind, the light lit up the skys
The thickened trunks of the trees shuddered in size, as the gust blew in hammering tries.
Hold fast and weather this thrust, her grip hardened with a white knuckle grasp
Deafening was it's moan, it shook the foundations from which she stood.
The wind blew freely in all directions, her coat opened and drew back her hood.
Wet as the rain pelted her in dampening spats, breathless she gripped at the satin and thrashed.
The storm was peaking its fury unleashed, she felt as though falling, tumbling, glowing.
It left as quickly as it came, leaving her spent. her coat hung loosely her hood put back,
The smell of fresh rain in the sod, the leaves and rivulets receding their flow,
Soft thoughts of conquest, warmth, and a pillow awaits, a quick dart, her eyes shot before they closed,
A jolt of guilty fear, passed. “I am alone for none too see”

I love this piece, even though long lines can make a piece very distracting. The rhyming is not great since it does not quite have a particular form but still there is something about this piece that makes it quite powerful.

    Great write! Keep writing
