Ducky Dave

Rubber ducky in my bath
Floating round beneath the tap
Your painted smile
It makes me laugh
Rubber ducky, I'll call you.. Cath?

You keep me company whilst I bathe
Cath's no good, I'll call you Dave.
Dave the duck, you swim for hours
Amongst the bubbles and rainbow showers

Dave the duck, with your plastic beak
Its always shut you never speak.
If it could open, you would quack
I'd start to laugh and talk right back

My plastic friend, you delight me so
Floating round, I watch you go
No plastic ship can compare
Dave my duck you're always there

And now the bathtime has to end
Adios my yellow friend
I pick you up and pat you dry,
Until next time I'll say goodbye

    Haha, I like this. Though, the first stanza is one line longer than the others. Maybe you could combine the third and fourth to make...
    Your painted smile makes me laugh.
    or something like that? Other than that this poem is great, it flows smoothly, the rhyme scheme is solid, etc.

    thank you for this great write. my little girl loved it. she has like 40 ducks that she plays with in the tub. No kidding. She really liked this and I added it to the finalists list thanks for sharing.
