just like me

everything's perfect before shaded eyes
a shallow heart beats the tempo of lies
and not in sunsets, but in the sunrise
greeting possibility with the greatest surprise
in this light that is, who is, what is, we are
letting wounds seep in hope of a scar
watching life flow as if from afar
a lonely chord sings from a forgotten guitar
hope casts a blessing, one just out of sight
tightly clasped hands battle the fright
in this fear of explosion, its wonder and might
as long lashes brace for the promise of light
holding and waiting, this way of embracing
tentative wondering of what we'll be facing
a tender beginning sheds its hard casing
while restless dreams resume their pacing
the question of what has, is and will be
laying regret to rest with lost memory
the world is cold and love is the key
life is f*cked up and beautiful, just like me...

Please tell me what you think

Its so bittersweet... Every time I found myself lulled into a sense of beauty and safety, it was shattered by the concept of bleeding, and scarring...

    Its really beautiful.
the way you captured the image of hope on the horizon, just out of reach, and the darkness surrounding you.
    they contrast so sharply
