Dick and Dave

He was christened Richard, but I’ve
affectionately nicknamed him Dick,
and he’s my happy purple friend.
Always cheerful and ready for fun;
quivering and shivering joyfully
at the slightest encouragement,
and much our mutual delight.
He is really fat and kinda squishy,
but it is offset by his impressive height.
He has never let me down
as we spend hours delighting
in our energetic play.

On occasion, Dick is joined by Dave;
Shorter than Dick by half
and thin as a stick or a pencil,
he frequently is a pain in my ass
(but that’s why we like him so).
Though is seems as if Dick and Dave
couldn’t possibly be compatible,
the three of us play quite well together --
darting in and out, plunging headfirst
into the best kind of trouble,
until I can’t help but scream from
the euphoria that floods over me.
