Her Wake

Under nature's spell
Gentle is the quiet breeze
That plays in her hair

She smiles at me
And I start melting inside
As she walks away

Richer than the rain
Like soft whispers on the wind
She hears me calling

That sad starry night
Alone by the stream waiting
Her touch is frozen

She speaks, I listen
Joined as one in the forest
I am in her wake.

Author notes

Just a bunch of haiku that wouldn't leave me alone so I wrote it down. I was originally going to just post the first stanza, but you know how it goes. There was a story to tell. Hope you like!

BEAUTIFUL! That was amazing. Your talent has no limits. Your form is rock solid, but it doesn't feel like it's been crammed into the sylables. The title made me think it was going to be about a wake, I'm very glad it was this instead.

    Great write sis!

    Love,
