The Kelpie

Missing image

Standing by the misty lake,

Looking so genteel,

The Kelpie standing all alone,

In full equine appeal,

Innocently watching,

It waits for you to mount,

So many souls it's stolen,

Far too many to count,

The seal like skin of a Kelpie,

Freezing to the touch,

Water dripping from its mane,

Doesn't bother it too much,

If you can get it bridled,

Its bidding will be yours,

But should that bridle slip at all,

You'll be back on deathly shores,

Once it has a rider,

It dives into the lake,

A Kelpie has a purpose,

A human life to take,

Don't let the Kelpie fool you,

It's no ordinary horse,

It will surely take you,

And all without remorse.
