Oh woes me!
God damn it, woes me!
And woe to all us poor girls whom are forced to spend their many evenings
Alone, with no one to love and hold them.
Woe to all who have never felt the warm touch of a man’s skin upon their own flesh,
Or the soft velvety sensation of a passionate kiss.
And shall I say woe to the poor souls who have been forgotten and thrown aside like
Rubbish so that there lovers can worthlessly chase after someone else!
Oh woe to us all! Did not God create women so as to be in companionship with men?
But wait, why am I saying woe only to my own and not the other half of our…
Intriguing species?
I say woe to men for shunning one of God’s greatest creations.
For repeatedly breaking our hearts without a care in the hole damn world!
Woe to men, who selfishly refuse to bask in the company of women only because,
“They are too good for our girlish company” or “are too frightened of us”!
For God’s sake are you men or insects?!
-Sigh- But low, what good is it doing sitting around lamenting about our tragic lives.
Though therapeutic it may seem at times, in the end mine and the hearts of others are still broken…

Author notes
I have been feeling very rejected lately and I went to see "Becoming Jane" last night by my self. So thinking about my love life and the Love life of Jane Austin is the reason why I came up with this poem. ^_^ Hope y'all like it

Hello Ebony!!
You have said so much here that I think women and men can relate. Woe is something that leaves scars upon memories within our hearts
You have beautifully managed to express all that has been bestowed upon you and all that you are enduring. Sometimes, love does stink and sometimes it is the best thing ever.. keeping our hearts open is the only way to survive these tragic events..Cause hey... ya never know..
the love of your life could be right around the next corner
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful write with us all!!!

Great
I was just browsing and found you. I love it. I can really relate to it too. Me and my man just broke up not too long ago and it sucks. But yeah great job.

In the beginning where you say "intriguing race?" I feel "race" isn't the proper word to use there, I would suggest using "species". It goes more in-line with what you're saying, I feel.
Angsty piece. I wonder if women know that just as many men get their hearts broken by the same type of women you state about men.
