Tiger's Eye

Missing image
She prowls her ground with claws intact
Obsolete voices haunt her
Collide into her eyes, without words
Visionless beings with nothing better to do
Than just to sit there, crying for things they have lost
Waiting to be led by the hand
But
She cannot take them
She cannot hurt them
She prowls with a tiger's eye
To find her peaceful heart

Her garden is sacred
She finds love there, resting within the shadow of the moon
Her tiger's heart tattooed to her soul
Forgotten seamless smiles and invisible fingers
That touched her image
Stroked her soul, with the tiger coveting her safety
Proudly she becomes all that she can
With time
With love
With him
She walks alone, seeking streams of moonbeams
That call her home in a whisper
Over the clouds, through the rain
She growls from a deep place within her belly
She strokes the tiger tattooed on her heart

Aww....kitty, kitty. This is beautiful and you had to have a furry lovely up there as well. That left me speechless then. Wonderful write my sugartits. I love all tigers, even just the ones with the spirit of them. Now, a wolf poem I believe is in order... ::ahem::

There is a melancholia in the beginning that aches for relief, that begs to be saved. Each of us has that aspect. It is too easy to forget the touches of love, only feeling the pain of this world as it eats us away. We must search for our happiness with determination, sometimes rejecting the ones who will drag us down.

Thought provoking poem you have written, gal. I can feel angst underneath the words, but the words bring hope!

Well done, I really liked the part:
Obsolete voices haunt her Collide into her eyes, without words Visionless beings with nothing better to do Than just to sit there, crying for things they have lost Waiting to be led by the hand"
    and
"She growls from a deep place within her belly"
that part reminds of my cat and the cats that I rescue.

Fabulous piece Gill...an endangered species , but one that
is the symbol of strength and independance...seems to be so
much sadness in this but its balanced out with hope

    Enjoyed.

I have black eyes tattooed on my heart. It breaks me and at the same time it wakes me from the terror and horror of each day. Then my days are quaint, more so than most, I guess.

'Eye of the Tiger' I love that song, I know it has nothing to do with this piece, but, this piece reminds me of that and also the first time I heard it.

I was 4 years old I was in a Day Care facility: Kid's World (which no longer exists) and it was playing on a toy record player, just the single.

I remember it like yesterday, so vivid the imagery of youth.

    striping

You know, hehe, you're good. Maybe you're talkin about a different tiger, but this tiger feels it all the way Good use with colors here..just like the stripes..but also, more black than orange..emphasizes the shadows.

    This tiger is pacing
He needs to get his ass back from vermont.

    Well done!! I mean it!

    NurseChilly,

Extremely well done!! Very beautiful. I love tigers. So this made it worthwhile to read.

You made each line short and right to the point. The imagery revealed was excellent. You let the reader take the time and understand what was just said.

    I loved this line...

Her tiger's heart tattooed to her soul

...I've never heard it like that!! Amazing, truly amazing.

    Sincerely,

    Nelak

very well done, the only change i would concider is "Waiting to be led by the hand" to "Waiting to be led by the ear" the ear is the sweet sounding voice,, and it keeps the beast without making it to human, know what I mean.. well done, I like
