[ Melpomene, how I loathe to love you. ]

Melpomene, how I loathe to love you.
You tend to Give and take away my inspirational song.
The song only comes when the outcome is grand,
like the attention you so secretly demand.

The drama you build and release so gently
creates the simpliest poem or the most lyrical melody.
But when I have sinned and brought your mood down
you make life misrebable, and make me fall to the ground.

Those other than you that live on this earth,
this world that we seem to fancy is nothing without your birth.

For life is nothing but drama that never ends,
that creates situations that could never mend,
but one rare moment makes life worth living
when your gracious gifts continue the giving.

So I pray that I have not wronged you with disappointment and awe.
For my flaw, is that you spoiled me with countless success.
The mess I have casused, with taking advantage at your best.
I pray for an outcome so royal and strong
so I may write you the another beautiful loving song.

Author notes

The inspiration for my poem is the Muse Melpomene, who is the muse of drama.

Melpomene seems to be a very popular choice for inspiration. It's wonderful and very sad at the same time. I enjoyed reading this. It kept my attention the whole time.
