The Morning Bell

She woke up at a friend’s place
still left with last night hangover
cuddling up over a thought
of hot caramel coffee

while lazily craving out of cozy bed,
a rainbow bouquet
magnificently decorated on dressing table
spooked her eyes.

"what’s this?", she screeched
"Oh surely not the milkman", her friend chuckled

She moved towards the innocent flowers
her heart beating cold
to spot the little note behind
a purple tulip

"I am waiting for you", it read softly

her eyes squeezed in pain
and conscience questioned
"am I ready for another start?"

soft hands kept fondling those lovely petals

    lovely

i enjoyed it. wonderful poem, especially the way it leaves its shadow within the last line. thanks for sharing a very sweet poem. I have only two english ghazals posted so far, written in a same format as Mr. Zahhar writes, but i still have a lot to learn.

I really like the suspense in this poem. A romantic gesture from an unknown person. "I am waiting for you". is all that it said without a name. I love it!

haha not exactly a suspense because the latter part is revealed in next poem. Also as I have mentioned in the authors comment that every poem is linked with the previous one

but so sweet of you to get back to my work often
