Accumulating friends
only to watch them go
difficult to make amends
when it's their beliefs I throw
Sixteen years in that church
Could I dare just leave?
I'd have to start my own search
for something to believe
I knew I'd get ignored
if I gave up their fight
but to leave life unexplored
I knew that wasn't right
Blinking under sun beams
leaving that sheltered world
pursuing my own path and dreams
so glad that some unfurled

Wonderful poem! To pursue your own dreams in life can be hard at times, as some dreams are really tough to reach. But even if you only get to aspire just a few of those dreams in the time you have lived, it's truly worth it, and fulfilling. I'm glad that you followed some of your dreams, and that they unfolded for you. It must feel great
Great write
