The Siege

Night has fallen upon my feeble mind
As my spirit bleakly speaks of the shade,
My eyes do seem to justify this blade
As it is unsheathed, glimmering, yet blind;
Somber edges blend weary wolves entwined
Like political foxes on crusades;
The hobgoblin press has been overplayed,
As the hours delay and the stars aligned
My tired self, I have taken to rest
While the problems untangle into a thought,
I find, I'm not much further on this course;
As heaven puts me to task and then test,
I file through pages of Plato, I bought
The sun rises painting a moral force.

    Very unusual.

    My first impression is that this is an unusual poem. Emotionally I find it intrigueing and very emotional, it tends to be a bit dark and mysterious. This is not hard to read therefore is not awkward. So far as I am concerned I wouldn't change it at all. My favorite part is the first two sentences all though I liked it all. The title is not clear to me as to why you chose it. The first line sets this up well,and the last line in fine for this poem. you did a good job with it.

    On subject,this piece talks about the depths of all life contemplated and how our thoughts tend to challenge and conspire against solutions.My interpratation only. I've done a Milton on AP but couldn't find it buried in close to a thousand poems.You've done well.
