What do you do?
She's not hurt you
But she's not loved you
What do you do?
When the tree falls in your heart?
When your throat is ready to split apart?
Images roll past your eyes
The flash of her teeth, purity of smile
As she fixes her gaze on... something, for a while
Your heart grows cold
To think of her, growing old
And dying
You think she needs protecting
But she won't take it
From you
What do you do?
Was there ever a doubt?
Could you have been such a lout
Not to see?
You do
The only thing you ever could
The only thing you ever should
Serve her as yourself, only more
Stand and wait for her on the shore
Give up your life for her, as knights of Yore

Do images really roll?
I especially like the fifth verse.
(I think 'verse' is the appropriate word, but it's always hard to tell) -
Well... all I can say is thanks, everybody.

A true love poem and totally breathless to me even if doubt is waged within the mind, the love is present. Often if we voice concerns we find a calm certainty and conditions are met in serenity. Looove your rhymes and the last line 'give up your life for her as knights of Yore' totally awesome and makes you feel love in the comfort and support of someone who will never leave you

Nice poetry. But can anyone ever tell me why people always love the ones who don't want them, but not the ones who'd give their lives for them?
I think you hit the nail too close to the head. Your words reminded me too much of me. So that means you were successful in conveying your emotion. Good job. -
You have reached the right conclusion. Let her go to hell.

wow.
This made me cry. Very powerful words. Very powerful choice of verse. Beautiful work here.
