Friend

I spent my life looking for things

That I never wanted in the first place.

Of course I didn't find them,

So I was left with nothing.

I was lost, Wandering around in a void

Spiraling inside this cyclone of confusion-

And I was left alone.

Alone to watch,

To watch the world

Through closed doors and bolted windows.

Always on the outside looking in.

I was invisible.

I cried myself to sleep each night

Waiting for a savior.

Rotting inside my dispair.

Misery was my only companion.

Pain was all I knew.

Through the darkness

And depth of my agony.

You found me.

You picked me up

And became my savior.

I owe my life to you.

Thank you.

Author notes

Hmmmm. This is a very good poem, very well written, very sweet and simply wonderful. As I read this all I could think about was how I owe my life to Jesus because it was Him that took me out of that pain and despair. I will not say that everything is shiny now, but because of Him I am standing. Why did i type this? I am not sure, go ask God.
She isn't your savior, I know you meant this in a good way, but just remember that your real savior will never never depart from you nor cause you pain unless it is to break you and mold you into what He wants you to be.

Beautiful rhymes. Your thoughts and awareness of your partner makes it easier to appreciate her beauty within. I feel the same soul/love connection with my husband.

The sweetness of your tender heart brings such emotions to portray before the feet of the one whom you owe, a beautiful tribute for the one that touched your heart and soul~
