Sacrificed

Enigmatic tunes
of remembrance hummed
as huffed sighs pushed past

pale lips.

Memories strummed
to a black and white

beat;

classic dream shades faded
inside a horned solo's

echo.

Heated concerts canceled
with the naked truth;

simply, just sex
so cold and unfulfilling
and yet,

{as I filtered out affection}

welcomed.

    I have a feeling you knew I'd love this one...the soft undertones of saxappeal
    and then the ending is perfect...this reminds me of something Nicollette would write, and I don't know why
    Bel this is amazing

    Peace and hugs

      Richard,

      To have you say is reminded you of something Nicolette would write humbles me so as she is a phenomenal poet! To be able to pen in this contest beside all the amazing talent that has come forth is truly an honor indeed But most of all to hear you say you enjoyed it as you have is the biggest honor I could receive. It truly was my pleasure to write for you and your contest!

      Love ya hun!

    aaaaahhh I have commented this one neither
    This is simply beautiful - in one word.
    And looking at the contest it's in, I suddenly remember I was planning to to write something too for this

    oh , there's not that much time anymore but I'll see if I can compete with ya

    although that would probably be redundant... cause I'm pretty sure there are a billion of other terrific pieced crawling around that contest page

    Good luck with this one sweetypie!

    Impressive penning, of course, Bel. Great picture, too. But, ahhh, the melancholy I felt pouring from the words, my Friend. You deserve so much better, you know. Affection should be poured on you like honey, not filtered out as though it was an allergen. Good luck in Richard's contest, Sweetie. Wanda

    Oh this is so sad. Such a terrible place to be. You have expressed the emotion so well. Most of us can relate to this. Best of luck in the contest.

    beautiful

    Damn Auntie.

    You always leave me sorta speechless as I read your poems. You seem to have this element to your poems, that I never find anywhere else. You write them so simple, yet so jam packed with power and emotions. Great job! I like how you keep it flowing and added that line in the brackets as a kinda side thought to the poem. Love the picture too! Wonderful and brilliant poem!

    Always,
