My Lesson

Standing with my back to you,

An easy target here,

I know that you're behind me,

But I don't feel any fear,

Checking on my balance,

Deciding to withdraw,

I don't feel your eyes upon me,

Or know what you're waiting for,

Only when I'm finished,

It's your footsteps that I hear,

Only now I sense you,

And now I feel the fear,

My body starts to shiver,

I know you're right behind,

Now I start to gasp for breath,

Terror in my mind,

I decide to turn and face you,

You look so surprised,

You thought I would be easy,

You hadn't realised,

A tiny little woman,

With a child in tow,

You almost got your prize from me,

How far were you going to go?

You didn't think I'd turn on you,

Didn't think I'd fight,

It must have really freaked you out,

By the speed that you took flight,

I work hard for my money,

And you are getting none,

I'm sorry the cops couldn't find you,

But I'm really glad you're gone,

Next time I'll be more careful,

Check who is around,

I'll now look over my shoulder,

And listen for any sound,

Let this be a lesson,

One that I will heed,

Always look behind you,

As safety isn't guaranteed.

Option - 29) The freakiest/scariest/weirdest thing that ever happened to you.

I wrote this as a reminder to myself and everyone else to always check who is behind them at a cash machine because I didn't and someone attempted to mug me a couple of days ago. My lesson is learnt.

  • It is very creepy when you have someone that you don't know standing behind you when you are at a cash machine or a bank or something, as it always makes you feel uneasy, especially in the night when less people are around and you can't see as well.
