The light is always on in theUnderground. *insert lighter motie here*

I was thinking for a current contest about where we physically write and I found it interesting how most of my writing is done in my finsihed basement so technically I really am in theUnderground.

Thought this was a perfect place to put it.

I'm writing more again at night I think. Usually too much going on during the day to concentrate.

    Let that light shine ...

In the light of the brightness where darkness surrounds ... Enjoy warmth in the stillness where good feelings abound ...

    Nicely shared thoughts by you!

        hmmmmmm ...

didn't curiousity kill the cat? ??

An old cliche that wore out time
and now you want to make it mine?
And there I sit in picture, posed
A poet cat now ... juxtaposed.

          Yes, but freshly coined,
          a contemporary take
          for the modern poser!!!

Doesn't the saying go something like:

Curiosity killed the cat, satisfaction brought it back?

So see, alive and well...as far as the hackneyed part...ummm, rarityjoy? That fits, right MC?

"...warmth in the stillness..." a comforting thought, Joy.

One of the members of the "sisterhood" I mentioned in the notes above
is now here. You might want to visit her at Pixiestix, for she is a great writer
who mIght appeal to your curious mind.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

The unquenchable flames meet Yem, the super soaker, who being a killjoy can kill any flame.

I've been a member of online writing communities since early 2001 and the fire is still spontaneous...it's not very good but it is spontaneous.

Spontaneity! Priceless, as you no doubt realize1
In reality. Yem, you tend to spark the flame
      rather than do any quenching!

          I tremble in anticipation!!!

The avatars...Yem's wood pile, sawed up two by fours, of four by fours or...
and shoveling snow off a roof? Squinting to see!!!

They show a little bigger on my page. My winter wood, no lumber, all honest trees I cut from my woodlot...he says proudly.

From your previous musings about the woodpile
I pictured bark on chunks of tree trunks,
and these were so neatly squared off,
but I know nothing of woodpiles,
only the moon knows yours so well!

Lots of bark in there, just the trees are quite big and so I have to split them, 2,4,6, even eight times for the right size for the wood stove. All good exercise...for a younger man.
Now it is all neatly stacked...except what I've already burned.

                How are you?

Darned if the least bit of stress doesn't cause
a little flare up! Lettes a bit jumpy on the page
sometimes, but generally doing FINE!!! Happy
                  to be tucked inside.

Have to deal on phonewith crazy lawn service,
signing me up for snow plowing when I told them
I had someone, charging me for Fall clean up when
it was all done (by my buddy) when the pulled to the
curb and after I left a zillion messages that it was not
supposed to be on my contract.

Calling owner's wife---she used to work in the business
years ago, was my basecoater--to lead me to the person that dan fix this!!

When that's done, I'll really be fine!!

A lovely piece, beautiful metaphorically. The candle lit stands for so much, hope, peace, unity.

You've done a wonderful job here. An outstanding write! Hugs, Kelly

      Moony, at our Underground site
we often used the light of the flame
to ensure there was always brightness
as our numbers dwindled, but it seemed
applicable to all who share the word.

      Thank you, sister Moon.
