Being God
is more serious than one may grasp:
keeping sunrise at bay;
keeping children at play;
keeping all watercolors neatly laced
without blotches all over the place ...
And oh! That smack of sunset
lashing out at the breaking waves,
surfing to shore,
with wave on wave kisses of stars
in silvery hue
of cobalt and blue:
that sparkle of Him which I so adore!
I can but gasp:
more, oh, more ...
Oh! More, oh, more!
I love You, God
Encore!
Author notes
I love God passionately and his masterful display gives me such glee! After I saw a wondrous sun-sea photo on FransB's page at Sharepoetry, I was inspired to write this poem.
Photo: Myra by Myra, August, 2007 -- I took this photo with a digital camera of a webcam image of me on my screen. Double Digital, I guess ... GRIN I love to be "at serious play" and experimental display LOL Isn't life fun at times?

"Being God
is more serious than one may grasp"
I suspect it's also more comedic than we may suspect, as well. From some things I've seen, God seems to have a delicious sense of humor.
I have this saying: "I believe God favors His Poets ~ why else would He give us such wondrous gifts?" Beautiful words from a beautiful spirit. Good luck in Richard's contest, Sweetie.

Your joy in your belief literally shines in this piece.
It glows with your faith.
Almost shakes my crusty secularism
lovely words

-
I'm afraid the sun, the moon and the stars all have to take a back seat to the beauty He created in you. Good luck in the contest.
Sincerely,

I have written psalms to poets
and through this I have praised
all the watercolors left
all the sunrises to come
all the waves done and undone

I loved this. You painted a beautiful picture of but a few of God's magnificent gifts. It made me smile. Thank you for sharing this. Your joy is contagious!

Thou art God. That sounds somehow familiar... there are no superlatives left, Myra, you have bled me dry. I will just give you bunnies and bow profusely.

I must agree with my dear friend Amera...We are given gifts and we have to use them to glorify his name.
Beautifully written...Good luck in the contest.

This is fantastic! I love Him too and you forgot one very importiant thing He does. He keeps you writing beautiful poetry for the rest of us to read and feel.
Love,
Amera♥
