For My Soldier-Past Wars...

With your pen, you write your life...
Ink melting into pure white paper.
Tell them the stories of your greatest battles Toy Soldier.
You and you alone know the tale.

Call to the wind and ask of it to bring to you
the scent of nostalgia.
Then dip you tongue into the river of memories.
Let it wash over you like a gentle caress.

Face the past, but when you are done,
Come home.
I will await for you at the door,
Here in our future.
Think life...
Not Death..
Think Peace...
Not War..

Come...
Lay your head on my bossom.
Dig into the worn leather traveler's bag.
Find that crisp white paper..
And read to me...The Memoirs Of A Toy Soldier.

These words are for one's ears only.
This Hope for him only.
Have Faith...
Leave the past on those sheets of paper,
And open a new book...
Start a new chapter...
Walk into your future...

Wonderful poem for someone doing a job that so many criticize. This is a loving poem to remind them that they are cared about. Well done. Thank you for entering and good luck.
