For some reason I'm thinking in musical terms
so this would be a transition from
minor to major keys
why I'm thinking in this way I have no idea.
(maybe it's because i've been writing songs for a year and a half and I'm trying to figure out how to put them to sheet music.)
Minor key represents summer
days filled with work and rehearsals
nights filled with shows and endless laughter
hanging out in Cubby Land and Fort Carole
drinking til we passed out or came close to it
Cheap wine, chardonay with a penguin on the label
and Pink Truck... a speciality of Will's
Laughing til we cried
and let's not forget playing Mafia either
I swear, I'm a townsperson
I guess I'll use I love Bobby as my defense
and then laugh later at my own expesne
Oh the good times at NLBP
I'll cherish them forever.
Transition to major key
which represents senior year
so many thoughts meshed together
Graduation in May
What am I going to do with the rest of my life?
So many choices to make
on the paths I could take
It's all so daunting
and it baffles me so.
When May comes around
I'll be making another transition
from college to the real world.
School will be over forever
well that is unless I go to grad school
which I don't know if I'm going to do yet.
Right now it's important to
live for the moment
and enjoy what senior year provides
good times with great friends
that will cycle through and never end
Transiton-
from minor key
summmertime
NLBP
Quiet New London streets at midnight
getting yelled at by the crazy neighbor
on the 4th of July
Being belligerent about mac and cheese while sober
Millstone cast parties
and just hanging out together
and in my solitude
I watch the cars pass by
headlight after headlight
thinking I could've not asked for
a better summer experience.
To major key
School's back in gear
I'm ready for another year
so many memories to be made.
The summer shade begins to fade
and the trees erupt in autumn color
I sit
by the flowing Contoocook River
and watching it run run away
and think in silent solitude
of past present and what's to come.
