Trapped
1000 Years
Pain
Sadness
Alone...
Pushing her away from me
I run in fear
trapped within my thoughts
Yet I yearn to keep her near
She says she'll do anything
Yet I can't say that back
My heart beating without her
Is something I now lack
I said I wouldn't get too near
And would someday walk away
Yet the thought puts me in tears
My heart tells me to stay
Giving life for 1000 years
Too hard for me to do
Replaced with an aching
A feeling I never before knew
I've seen others die before
And was always left behind
Just like any other human
She'll leave me in due time
Yet...
I love her more than anything
The time to leave has past
I won't run away anymore
I've found my love at last.
Author notes
Millennium Snow is about a 17 year old girl named Chiyuki and an 18 year old vampire named Toya. In this story, vampires live for 1000 years and they must choose a partner by the age of 18. Toya has not yet choosen a partner because he is afraid that by drinking anyone's blood he will give them everlasting life- which he sees as a curse. Chiyuki is dying of a heart condition when she meets Toya, and they both fall in love. Yet, Toya's fear of choosing Chiyuki to be his partner drives them apart. I tried to demonstrate that relationship through Toya's point of view. How he needs to learn to accept his feelings instead of pushing them away.
