i took a deep breath
no debt, no doubt
it wasnt mine
lila's got small teeth
sharper than her tongue
and stays awake and alert
so as to not grind them
a pound of flesh
the pound of sex
lila brought wine to the party
blush
the desert turns cold
bodies turn cold
fires break rhythm
no longer breathing in, only out
lila's got time
lila's got bank
lila's got quiet
lila's got shake
lila's got the fool moon
and nothing to lose
lila holds hands
indiscriminately
hoping to be brought home
lila plays the little spoon
she also plays the fiddle and the banjo
the river taught her much
lila plays the big spoon
she also plays cards and russian roullette
the river taught her such
the blush was gone
the bottle empty
you could blow a full breath in
and make music with its emptiness
to lila it's nothing
she's happy to have come
no debt, no doubt
it wasnt mine
lila's got small teeth
sharper than her tongue
and stays awake and alert
so as to not grind them
a pound of flesh
the pound of sex
lila brought wine to the party
blush
the desert turns cold
bodies turn cold
fires break rhythm
no longer breathing in, only out
lila's got time
lila's got bank
lila's got quiet
lila's got shake
lila's got the fool moon
and nothing to lose
lila holds hands
indiscriminately
hoping to be brought home
lila plays the little spoon
she also plays the fiddle and the banjo
the river taught her much
lila plays the big spoon
she also plays cards and russian roullette
the river taught her such
the blush was gone
the bottle empty
you could blow a full breath in
and make music with its emptiness
to lila it's nothing
she's happy to have come
Author notes
This poem is referring to death/night as Lila (means "night" in arabic). I was hoping the opening lines of hers gave you that idea if you didnt know what the name meant.
I think Lila is sexy; She's both feminine and masculine. I'm not real goth, but the idea of Lila climaxing when she takes a breath, a fire out, the heat out of the desert, plays the way the river taught her... is so sexy. Something about finding a dependency and owning it with such an aloofness is powerful.
Please tell me what you think

I absolutely love the last stanza of this poem. I'm not even sure what it is about this poem that I enjoyed so much but I really really enjoyed it. There's this kind of sadness to her, like she's trying so hard and yet not trying at all. This is a very relateable poem actually.
