that in my mind were grander
than the paths men carve in time,
sublime in all their wonder
losing now their prime.
When imagining the world
as a spec of dust in the sea of the Void,
the mind contemplates place,
the concept of purpose becomes overshadowed
For that we erect milestones
four seasons, each in their kingdom
each have their power,
seconds give to the minutes of hours.
The anger of man cannot be surpressed
only vented and reinvented.
lies beheld in earnest
The distance of the stars is overwhelming
they shine for us as signs of their death
light sent to us to represent breath
Only those who have never lived may be immortal
men need to feel
and feel the need to kill their gods
and just to keep their righteousness
congregate to gather the sin
and so here we stand
together divided,
collectively isolated,
mutually alone,
forever.
Author notes
This is a poem the pen wrote. My mind spilled and the pen simply formed my thoughts into what you see here. The first stanza is talking about all the mythology that is lost in time and modern day logic. The second Shows that not only have our notions of time expanded, but literally the world around us becomes even more unfathomably huge which of course challenges the basic human perameters within itself. The third, forth and five all encompass mans need to be remembered through monuments and the frustration of our insignificance. and the rest marks off mans' relationship with God and how detramental it is that we unite instead of divide ourselves through him.

Well done on a fantastic effort all round and thanks for your entry, best of luck to you also,
