Life -Without sacrifice
Giving it all away
Just to live another day
Fear - That no one will be near
When you’ve said your last words
Will they too go unheard?
Try - To hide your tear filled eyes
There’s nothing left to say
And the worst option becomes your only way
Life is fearful yet you try to hold on
Keep trying to hold on for me
No one ever made clear
What your choice should be
Wipe away all your fears
And learn to finally brake free
It shouldn’t be like this
And we know it really isn’t
We shouldn’t live like this
But what else are we given
There goes all compassion
Slowly drifting away
Our strongest feelings aren’t lasting
And we’re left with nothing else to say
Life is fearful yet you try to hold on
Keep trying to hold on for me
When fear has fled
And we’re drowning in agony
The tears we shed
Have disappeared finally
But what do we have
When the slate is clear
We only know how to live
Because we learned from our fear
What have we learned?
We’ve ruined everything
We’ve sealed our end
Before we got a beginning
And now for mercy
We cry out loud
Hoping death is forgiving
We don’t care how
Life is fearful yet you try to hold on
Keep trying to hold on for me
Lasting like a candle
In the middle of the sea
You hope you won’t stand out
In the ocean of misery
You douse your flickering flame
And try to hide your face
Pointing away the blame
Forgetting your place
Here we go again
The same old tired tune
You kill away your friends
And are buried in their tomb
Please try to understand
I’m not pushing away my shame
Just please take my hand
And tell me what’s my name?

Wow! I have stayed away too long from your poetry! This is an incredible write! It is so true of todays society not taking responsibility for their own actions! Living and learning out of fear not love or compassion. Very insightful for a young lady like yourself. When I was your age all I was thinking about was Star Blazers. But I guess those days of somewhat innocence are gone now. We can no longer hide our heads under the blankets and peacefully go to sleep.

A little longer than what I normally like to read. A good write overall. Love the expression in the beginning of the fears of dying alone. Don't know many people who can't relate to that!
