The Shadows

As the moon takes the throne,
And the land goes to sleep.
As winds whisper secrets,
And the rivers run deep.
As the last embers dim,
As the last candle dies.
As the beasts of the night
‘Last break free of all ties.
‘Tis then we must listen,
‘Tis then magic exists.
‘Tis then we must look,
For the truth in the mists.
Watch, son of man
Watch what you can’t embrace.
And remember all seen,
‘Lest you come face to face.

As in circles they dance,
And their beauty supreme.
The fairies that seek
With the fairies that dream.
Full of joy, full of life
Full of things we see naught.
Full of joy, full of death
Knowledge centuries taught.

“Come to us, oh lost soul,
Mother sets up a task.
To relieve you from pain,
To destroy falsehood’s mask.
Dance with us, loose all doubt
Feel the power within
Within plants, within birds
Feel the power herein.
Intoxicate with our lust,
Dream you deep, dream you sweet.
Grass goes green where we step,
Flowers bloom ‘neath our feet.
You be safe in our ring,
As we dance round and round.
Share a song with our hearts
And reveal what you found.”

As in circles they dance,
And their beauty supreme.
The fairies that seek
With the fairies that dream.
Full of joy, full of life
Full of things we see naught.
Full of joy, full of death
Knowledge centuries taught.

Wake you up, all alone
Somewhere deep in a glade.
Mem’ries here are fresh,
Yet the dreams all but fade.
Life is short, yet eternal
Be it written in ink.
Like the curse set upon ye,
Hence immortal the link.
Written be it in blood,
Written ‘neath the full moon.
Written be it with hate,
Yet in love will thee swoon.
How the curse to be broken,
How the seal to be raze.
Knows but one, know but many
Search thee fool through the haze.

As in circles they dance,
And their beauty supreme.
The fairies that seek
With the fairies that dream.
Full of joy, full of life
Full of things we see naught.
Full of joy, full of death
Knowledge centuries taught.
