So here we lie, beneath the moon
As we've done so oft before
Sterling shafts of silver silk
Dance lightly 'cross the floor
And deep within our dew draped folds
Of satin sapphire blue
My pearly skin lies cold and bare
Yearning so for you
I gaze into the deep, dark sky
And scattered starry chance
And breathe the air, so spicy sweet
Seductive, shimmered trance
I watch as shadow sheaths the moon
Eclipsing eloquent beams
Staring full into her face
I'm swept in waking dreams
Sensations course throughout my skin
Like imps of carnal urge
Careening deep into my soul
The depths of longing surge
And still you lay, beside my lust
In silent, slumber deep
Caring not for wild flames
That from my body leap
Fires made by wood and coal
Burn hotly, sparks from hell
But even flames of lava cool
When placed by passion's swell
Every nerve within me burns
The body and the heart
Within the chill of dewy night
My will seems rent apart
Blackness falls across the land
As shadow cloaks the moon
And in the moment it descends
Resolve is swiftly hewn
Lost is thought, is time and place
Nothing do I know
Except the driving wildfire
Tastes of heaven and below
Then silently the moon appears
And beckons clear to me
The shadow's gone, the night is calm
Again my eyes may see
And yet you lie beside my love
Content in dreamland far
And I lie still, in wonder fleet
And wish upon a star
Not once does your skin seek my own
Left lonely, needing more
And sterling shafts of silver silk
Dance lightly 'cross the floor
Author notes
Love is not a butterfly... it is a raging fire that consumes and ignites deeper desires than any mortal can imagine....

This is the most passionate poem I have read! The subtle words that paint a portrait of pure desire. Oh my Little Sister...you have me feeling amorous as well! Beneath the moon...the dew kissing skin, sounds like paradise! Wonderful dear!
Blessed be!

Absolutely breathtaking, my love. I can't remember ever reading a romantic work that grabbed me and took me along on every single step, every last line.
You're more talented than you could imagine, m'lady.
