A writer sat in dead of night,
spinning tales by candlelight.
His pen is poised, about to tell
stories he still knows so well,
from when he was told those tales
of flying ships with golden sails!
Of knights in armor, battles won,
or nymphs and their aquatic fun!
Of dragons with their iron scales!
My, how I love such tales!
Oh how the writer does recall,
of fearsome giants, ten feet tall!
Of kingdoms all their splendor shown,
with young boys pulling swords from stone!
Of Phoenix with its music cry
and firey flames, yet never dies!
Of sphinxes with their clever ways
or pirates with their guns ablaze!
Oh what adventures these would be!
Come on, my friend, come dream with me!

I love this, I really do. It is beautiful to see a poem with such order and flow, and a well done rhyme scheme. Too many poems these days are just freewriting emotions, which makes this unique to modern writing! Plus it was fun to read!
