Her Former Self

Missing image
Help her to understand and find
Every reason that divides her mind
Rivers of pain that are left behind,

Fantastic emotions, one of a kind
Ordinary she became in time
Rueful of the extreme design
Mercy was not to be her gift
Even though she often gave lift
Reversing damages; giving without thought.

She became the soul; they sold and bought
Entering their world with too much pain
Living, eating and breathing as if insane
Forgetting she had to capitulate the flame.

She became a ghost of her former self.

Very clever with this rhyming acrostic. Had I not seen the letters roll down the page, I would never have known this to be an acrostic. And that is as it should be.

Wonderful wonderful take on the prompt. I love where this story went in relation to the image. Exceptionally well done. You have stepped right up to this challenge and made it your own.

An impressive piece to say the least. I loved it. Thank you so much for entering this verse in my contest. Best of luck in the judging. Wonderful work. ~Pamela
