Dark Symphony

Distant nova, explosive glittering crystal-
Incinerating those closest to you in breathless gasps.
But I’ve wisely danced out of you gravity,
Wildly swayed away from your depravity,
Found bitter enjoyment in looking, not touching
In a parody of self preservation

You’re an inferno reflected in inner mirrors.
Crisping my veins, collapsing my lungs in the sensual roar.
With ash in my mouth and sooty war paint, I battle through,
Ice cold daily ritual when I stop to think of you.
Brilliant in my hindsight visions of yesterday,
All the while stealing my heart from the pigeon hole

A burned image floats on black while I sleep
Making me tear, blinking away pain through the dark.
I sob over the chaos, waiting for a chance just to be.
I wish on you as you are the only thing I can ever see.
Cursing the day that steals away your presence,
Never wanting the night music to end.
