Another Teenage Catastrophe

A crown of scars built upon wary skin
and flooded over by crimson desires,
yet I still play your sadistic game
in hopes of a false need for redemption.

A Valentine that never loved, laced in silver
and showered in sweet kisses of wilting roses.
I believed every one of your whiskey lullabies
and drowned myself in bittersweet mercury.

Double edged razors slash away and I bleed lithium -
crying tears of rum and lacing my words in purest vodka.
A mirror lay in ruin, casting broken reflections of who I was
and through your loveless lines, a tarnished soul beams back.

A simple slice along aqua tinted veins
as the deepest Spartan crimson pours from the gash
and paints red the ivory tiles these tired feed stand on;
flooding and blanketing me in your midnight screams.

Your romanceless lies sing like demented lullabies,
candy coated in glitter angst and betrayed by cynical laughter -
a river of whispered secrets pours from the wrist of this mannequin corpse
as these alcoholic tears mirror the cries of purgatory.

Wading in rivers of cyanide - devoured by arsenic lakes;
this petty soul ends her life and travels through empty corridors.
Another teenage catastrophe; another broken heart the world forgot -
now a fallen angel left with broken wings and a requiem of regret.
