I've taken in those babies~
cause someone needed to.
I fed the homeless~
even gave them shoes.
I worked till my back broke~
came home straight to you.
I stitched up your face~
when he was through with you.
I took your confession~
granted you grace.
I served you coffee~
with a smile upon my face.
I drove you home~
while you were on a binge.
I gave you a hug~
when you simply needed a friend.
I took you off the street~
got you a scholarship.
I made you into a man~
you send me letters from a ship.
My life may not be simple
nor is it complete,
I haven't finished my jobs
but I'm still standing on my feet.
I give to those who need it,
reach out with a hug
for I could have been you
if not for the man above.
Take some time and reach out
help your fellow man,
someday we'll meet in Heaven
where love never ends.
