From the East
I enter
red stony womb
strangely amniotic
blood red striations
bid me
curl up
fetal
silent
waiting
rebirth
pushing
through sharp
edged agony
to the carved city
of wonder.
Let me linger...
here.
Let awareness abide
this time...
that which has lain
dormant through
a thousand lifetimes.

the rebirth imagery is effective and combined with this photo, very revealing about Petra. Thank you for this fine contribution.
