can’t walk
into a room
without checking
[and rechecking]
the doors.
turn over the pocketknife
[in my pocket]
one.two.three
times
got to
pickpickpickpickpick
at my skin
[no stopping
once I start]
WAIT….
heart.throbbing.in.my.ears
forgot to check
under the bed
((for the boogeyman
.: of course :.))
o.b.s.e.s.s.i.v.e.n.e.s.s
(bite your fingernails)
to the point of c.o.m.p.u.l.s.i.v.e.n.e.s.s.
(go ahead, touch the hot stove)
and it’s driving me
(one.two.three.one.two.three.one.two.three)
over
the
edge.
Author notes
Obsessive-compulsive. That's me. I've been diagnosed with depression and I diagnosed myself with seasonal-affective disorder. Winter is not my season.

Wow, I didn't know this. It must be pretty hard to deal with. I'm sorry you have to deal with it and I hope this winter will be better for you in the very least.

this is a bad thing to deal with...I have to check things over an over at times to make sure I did what I already know I did. Very nice entry...thanks and best of luck!
